The CLSUAAI President with Fervent Love of Service to his Alma Mater

Dr. Carlos C. Abon Jr., the incumbent President and chairman of the Board, graduated with a BS in Agriculture degree in 1977, MS 1986 and PhD 1996 at our prestigious University, the Central Luzon State University. He is a Professor and Researcher at the Research, Extension and Training (RET) Office and at the Department of Crop Science, College of Agriculture.

He also holds the following positions: Member of the CLSU Board of Regents (BOR), Member of the Board of Trustees, Rice Productivity Advocacy Inc. (Rice Board), Member, Board of Directors, CLSU Employees Housing Cooperative (CEHC), Chief, Technology Product Development Division (TPDD), Phil.-Sino Center for Agricultural Technology (PhilSCAT) and President, Science City of Muñoz Tennis Club (SCMTC).

Born on April 8, 1954, and married to Dr. Marilou S. Gilo-Abon (deceased) former President of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) from 2005-2010. They were blessed with two children: Architect Rhys Carlos G. Abon (USHS ‘99) AR19421, now works as Division Manager/Project Architect at AIDEA Philippines Inc., and Karryl Angelic G. Abon (USHS ‘06). She is an Instructor I in the College of Arts and Science, Central Luzon State University and at present a Fullbright Scholar-Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program at the University of Michigan, USA.

By nature, Dr. Carlos C. Abon Jr. is very approachable, compassionate and hardworking.
