Dangal ng PhilMech Awardees are CLSU Graduates

They attained the highest award given by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization ( PHilMech) to its employees. They are the best among the best of PHilMech employees under the Research, Training and Extension and Support Categories, both at the junior and senior levels.

Engr. Rodelio G. Idago, Ms. Ma. Theresa T. Diño, Ms. Helen R. Calica, Engr. Billy T. Belonio and Engr. Andres Tuates, Jr. are the five employees of PHilMech bestowed with the honor of being Dangal ng PHilMech . They are all graduates of the Central Luzon State University in the Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija.

Dangal ng PHilMech is the most coveted award given to any employee of PHilMech. The person who receives this award is an “epitome of an admirable public servant who exemplifies PHilMech corporate values of creativity, integrity, teamwork, excellence and spirituality”.

Engr. Rodelio G. Idago is the Science Research Specialist II of the Socio-Economic Policy Research Division of PHilMech. He is a multi-awarded researcher, winning numerous best paper and poster awards in various R & D award-giving bodies. Engr. Rodel is also a recipient of the Natatanging Kawani in the Research Category in 2010, 2011 and 2013. He received the Dangal ng PHilMech in 2013. Engr. Rodel took his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering in CLSU in 1996. He placed ninth in the Agricultural Engineering Board Examination. He took his MS in Agricultural Engineering in the University of the Philippines in Los Banos in 2009.

Ms. Ma. Theresa T. Diño is the Administrative Officer V of the Finance Division of PHilMech. In 2011, she received both Natatanging Kawani under the Support Category and Dangal ng PHilMech. She is part of the team which won for PHilMech the Most Outstanding Accounting Office Award given by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP) in 2016 as well as in 2006 and 2002. Ms. Tess, as she is fondly called, graduated in CLSU in 1988 with a BS in Business Administration. In 2007, she took her Master in Business Administration in Araullo University, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

Engr. Billy T. Belonio is the Information Officer II of the Planning, Management and Information Technology Division of PHilMech. He leads the team of IT experts who develop and maintain the different information systems of PHilMech like the Personnel System, Daily Time Record, Payroll, Financial Status Report, Vehicle Dispatching with Preventive Maintenance, and so forth. Engr. Billy is both Natatanging Kawani under the Support Category and Dangal ng PHilMech in 2014.

Engr. Billy graduated both his MS in Agricultural Engineering and BS in Agricultural Engineering in CLSU in 2002 and 1982, respectively.

Ms. Helen R. Calica is the Supervising Science Research Specialist of the Technology Management and Training Division (TMTD) of PHilMech. She is the Acting Division Chief of the TMTD. For her major contribution, Ms. Helen and her team empowered the agriculture industry stakeholders by giving them knowledge and skills through the training courses they implement. Ms. Helen was recognized thrice as Natatanging Kawani for Training and Extension in 2002 , 2010 and 2013. She also received Dangal ng PHilMech in 2013. Ms. Helen graduated in CLSU in 2000 with an MS in Rural Development.

Engr. Andres M. Tuates, Jr. is a Science Research Specialist II of the Bio-Process Engineering Division of PHilMech. He is a multi-awarded researcher and an outstanding agricultural engineer. A Natatanging Kawani under the Research Category in 2006, 2012 and 2015, Engr. Andres received the Dangal ng PHilMech award in 2015. Engr. Andie took his BS in Agricultural Engineering in CLSU in 1996 . He took his MS in Agricultural Engineering in UPLB in 2011.

Engr. Rodel, Ms. Tess, Ms. Helen, Engr. Billy and Engr. Andie are all Dangal ng PHilMech awardees. Their outstanding performance and contribution to PHilMech and the postharvest industry speak very well of their Alma Mater
