High School Batch ’63 Holds “Mini-Reunion”
(by RS. Cabanilla  1/9/2017)

Through the initiative of Engr. Pablito B. Yra, a Senior Scientist from Silicon Valley, California, USA, assisted by the Senior Class President, Dr. Romeo S. Cabanilla, now the Secretary General/Director of the CLSUAAI and former Association President, had a “mini-reunion” hosted by Engr. Yra last January 7, 2017 held at his residence in Brgy. San Carlos, Cabiao, Nueva Ecija.

“Mini-Reunion” because there were only Ten (10) out of the 183 graduates who attended – better attendance was during our Grand Reunion held at the CLSU Alumni Hall

last February 5, 2016. The theme of the “mini-reunion” was “Batch High School Class ’63: Then, Now and Forever”.

The host/sponsor, Engr. Pablito B. Yra has been living in the United States for the last 53 years and it was only last October 26, 2016 that we met at the CLSU Alumni Office. So with his excitement/eagerness to meet and see some of his batchmates, he proposed a “mini-reunion” to be sponsored by him. So that happened last January 7, 2017 in his residence; although there were only ten of us, “it was an affair to remember”.

The “mini-reunion” was highlighted by the presence of Dr. Rogelio Lazaro and his wife, former Elma Crespo- our high school teacher. During the said occasion, our group gave the “Plaque of Recognition” to Dr. Lazaro which he did not received during the Centennial Celebration of CLSU held last April 2007 where he was one of the 100 Alumni who were awarded Plaque of Recognition thru the initiative of the former University President, Dr. Rodolfo C. Undan.

The attending classmates were as follows: Pablito B. Yra, Romeo S. Cabanilla, Corazon O. Salcedo, Elena A. Abragon, Benjamin Estrada, Rosie Reyes, Rodolfo Tiamzon, Flora Tolentino, Juanita Lawagan and Rumiciendo Sirot.
